Alice in Chains unplugged is the epitome of `easy listening`. This acoustic set of 13 wonderful tunes tears away all labels and bounds. Many know alice in chains as a `metal` band or heavy rock or something of that genre. This 1996 MTV show was their first live performance in three years, and best overall performance I have ever seen in my life. Singer Layne Staley, singer/lead guitarist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Inez, and drummer Sean Kinney have come together and created an amazing performance. Now for those of you who are not alice in chains fans-this review will be biased. Special Features: Interactive Menus Instant Chapter Access to Songs Timeline Complete Discography Web Link This video features three performances not seen on the MTV broadcast including "Frogs," "Angry Chair" and a brand new song, "The Killer Is Me." Re-visit this magical performance for the first time on DVD in Dolby Digital multichannel surround sound. The band`s acoustically based Ep`s provide a number of great songs that come to life on this DVD including "Brother" and "Got Me Wrong," "No Excuses" and the plaintive "Nutshell" from Jar of Flies. The 13 song set highlights material from the band`s albums Dirt and Alice In Chains and the Ep`s SAP and Jar of Flies. The band proved again that they are one of the greatest performing bands in music today. This is the band`s first performance after a three year hiatus from the stage.
